Why should I use OTP verification?
Passwords aren’t perfect, and there are some instances where you need to double-check you are interacting with the right person. OTP gives you a practical way to add stronger authentication. And it’s convenient for your users. No extra app and no need to carry another device.
What happens if an OTP code doesn’t arrive?
If a send fails, Dexatel can move to the next channel in the fallback chain you set up, such as SMS after WhatsApp or Viber. You set the time limit for the chain, from 120 to 300 seconds, with a default of 120 seconds. Once a message is delivered, the chain stops. Still a problem? Give us a call.
Do I need a developer to use the Dexatel OTP API?
You will need some technical support to connect the OTP verification API to your website or app. But Dexatel gives you the documentation and guidance to configure and test everything as easily as possible.
How long should an OTP code remain valid?
You decide. On WhatsApp, you set how long a code stays valid, from 30 seconds to 15 minutes. The default is 15 minutes. Codes are not single-use, so a code can be checked more than once while it is valid.
