What IsConcatenated SMS?
Concatenated SMS, also known as long SMS, is a type of message designed to send texts longer than the standard 160-character SMS limit.
It works by breaking up the text message into two or more “concatenated” SMS messages and “stitching” the messages back together on the receiving end. This extra length allows for more information to be passed through fewer SMS messages, saving mobile phone users time, money, and limited message storage.
Concatenated SMS is the ideal communication method for those occasions when you need to send longer messages than would fit in a single standard SMS, such as when sending a long SMS to a group of people.
What is the Character Limit for Concatenated Messages?
The SMS character limit for concatenated messages is reduced by 7 characters per text. Generally, each segment in a multipart message is limited to 153 characters, and messages that contain any Unicode character are limited to 67. The overall length of a concatenated message will be determined by the character limit of the receiving carrier.
The use of message concatenation allows developers to send larger texts with more ease. A single message is divided up into smaller, more manageable messages that contain no more than 153 characters each.

1. Appointment Reminders
Businesses can use concatenated SMS to send longer appointment reminders to customers with a wealth of information in one go. The text can include the appointment date and time, the address of the meeting, and a brief outline of the appointment agenda.
